Welcome to the forum. The marking on the base is "WHEATON NJ" - Wheaton Industries produced reproduction and fanciful re-creations of 19th century bottles in the later 29th century.

The "weird indented stamp" that you mention is Wheaton's molded simulation of a pontil mark. Your bottle is a modern repro and they are fairly common. I see them sell in the $5-20

Long overdue response.... Wheaton bottles date to the 1960s - 80s - they are modern semi-replicas of 19th century bottles. They are collectible but do not have a whole lot of value since they are rat
