Purple bottle stopper
Hello I found this bottle stopper and piece of the broken bottle on my property today. I am just curious about the age. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for posting these. If you search this forum for the word "manganese" you will find plenty of discussion regarding its use in glass and how its presence will make glass turn purple when exposed to ultraviolet light. You can date the stopper and fragment to pre-1920, so late 19th c. or very early 20th c. in age.
The fragment appears to be a whiskey bottle to my eye. The stopper would be commonly found in a food (sauce) bottle, fitted with a cork gasket.
