Rounded bottom bottle found in Italy
I found this bottle along the Ligurian Coast of Italy. We were hiking and decided to wander way of the path. Sort of in the middle of nowhere I found this bottle. It was filled with sediment of which I've cleaned out most.
The bottle is 12 inches top to bottom and 17.5 inches in circumference.
I think it is free-blown without a form as I can't find any firm lines and the sides are not uniform and are a bit wavy to the touch. The bottom has more obvious and rough concentric rings(photo). There is a flat spot on one side (photo) and air bubbles in the neck (photo).
The glass is not very thick at all. Any info you might have would be helpful.

It is a traditional Italian wine bottle called a fiasco. I am not sure how the word got such a different meaning in English but one can imagine too much wine had something to do with it :-)
See the wikipedia page for a complete discussion of this bottle type.
