Heavy Claret Glass Jug

This claret jug or pitcher is heavy and is 14" tall. The top part is not silver or silver plated, no sterling. I would like to know if anybody knows the era and possible maker.

    Might there be a maker's mark on the metal somewhere? Look closely..
