Purple antique bottle
Hello everyone,
My husband and I have recently acquired a farm property and I have been fossicking for bottles around there. I have found lots of old medicinal and condiment bottles in the old tip on the property. I have also found a old purple bottle that is irregularly blown. I am interested in dating it and I have attached some pictures for the opinion of those of you with knowledge in the field. It is purple tinged with a seam that runs to the top and a lip half way up the neck. i am guessing about 1910 to 1920? Thanks in advance, Nat

Yes, I think your dating is fairly close. The amethyst tint suggests the presence of manganese as a decolorizing agent.

I am not entirely sure of the country of origin for this bottle nor am I sure, if AU, whether the change in glass technology occurred at the same time as in the US.
