identify information Gettysburg glass decanter bottle 1917

It is etched Gettysburg 1917 and has a faceted stopper

    This is a good example of "souvenir glass" typical of the late 19th and early 20th century. Most likely it was made in Czechoslovakia or neighboring European countries which had significant glass works at that time.
  • The Union veterans of the Civil War, the Grand Army of the Republic, held reunions for decades after the war was over; many of those encampments were held at Gettysburg national cemetery in PA. I think you have a souvenir of one of those encampments. I do not see anything special that would preclude this having been made in the U.S. and the form suggests use on the sideboy, containing wine or bitters or something alcoholic, or on the man's dresser, containing hair tonic or aftershave (like witchhazel).
