Information on this bottle please

Can you shed any light on what this bottle would have been used for? I found this bottle about 30 years ago on my parents farm in a creek bed. The bottle is approx 25 cms high, with no numbers or letters on the bottle.

    This bottle is completely foreign to me as a collector of American bottles. I did check your IP address and notice that you are in Australia.
