Just discovered this website. Have you found one yet? I think I may have an extra example available. These inkwells were made expressly for the Hathaway Patent (December 24, 1861) traveling writing kit composed of wooden slats, which was one of many novel patented types marketed to the Civil War military trade. These very desirable kits are often found missing the complementary inkwell, which is why they tend to be hoarded.
