Marks on the bottom of bottles!

Is their any rhyme or reason to the markings on the bottom of bottles, if so any links to them would be appreciated.

    Well, yes. An entire book has been written on the subject called BOTTLE MAKERS AND THEIR MARKS

    i have a glass cocktail pitcher with d-126 &5860 & a 0 with a 1 in it on the bottom what was it used for

    Can't tell you any more than you already know about it use but I can say the O-I mark could be Owens-Illinois, which is a large US glass manufacturer. Impossible to date this without a photo
