Bottle info

Can anyone assist in identifying what this bottle contained?
It was made by the metro bottling company and looks to have been made sometime between 1935 and 1949.
One of my guesses is syrup? It has a decorative handle on the side.
Any info would be appreciated.

Almost impossible to properly identify. I bet it was a flavoring extract of sorts. Seems too small to be syrup. Also, if that is what im thinking, that bottle was made between 1940-1952 by Pennsylvania glass co. as shown on the makers mark website.
