My initial reaction looking at the photos (before looking at your message) is that this is a Bohemian made object from either the late 19th or early 20th century. It also seemed like it might be a vessel for holy water.
I cannot seem to make out how the image of the building is created - painted on the glass? a separate piece held in place by the metal frame?
