ID help please for heavy, handblown, cast, square based bottle

This UK bought, heavy bottle is approx 10 1/2" tall with a square base with 5" sides. There are numerous small and some large bubbles visible throughout. There are mold lines on two diagonally opposite sides extending up to the rim, and a circular base mold line with excess extrusions. The internal neck aperture reduces down to about 1". Weight 1.4kg

From the little I know of glass, I believe this is a hand blown, cast piece but I have no idea of origins, age or purpose. If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful. Thank

you

  • This is a tough one to nail down. The mold seams suggest a more modern manufacture yet obviously the glass batch is bubbly and irregular which suggests earlier manufacture.
