Curious purple bottle

I found this curious diamond shaped bottle. It is about 8" tall, light purple coloured with a diamond cut lid and a brass locking ring. I have not been able to find anything identical to it anywhere on the Internet. Anyone have any input? Will post picture when I figure out how. Thanks.

  • Surely someone has some input. If not, any suggestions on where else to look?
  • It is hard to tell the age of the bottle from your photos.

Seems like the stopper could be cut. A clear shot of the base may help.

As for purpose, cologne or perfume.

  • Thanks for the input. I will try and post better pIctures
  • Here are better pictures of the top and bottom
  • The photos really are not large or clear enough to be sure but it would appear the stopper is cut and the base is polished. This would suggest late 19th or early 20th century.
  • Thanks for your help. My decanter is the same size and shape as a turn of the century Murano decanter. The biggest difference is the colour and the stopper. Even the ring around the top is the same, minus the lock. The murano decanters were made to stack side by side to essentially form a circle.
