Wheaton Bottles Need more identification and worth

edited March 2013 in Question and Answer
I have 2 Wheaton Bottles that have nothing embossed on bottle. Bottom of each says
Wheaton, NJ.
I can't find anything on them . Any ideas of why they are plain and is there any worth to these bottles/
Thanks in advance

  • Wheaton NJ has for many decades been a combination museum and glassworks, keeping alive the traditions of the South Jersey glassblowers. In keeping the traditions going, they keep the fires lit and produce stuff...giftshop stuff, etc. They are not meant to be reproductions competing with real rare collectors' bottles. You can think of them as decorator items or teaching models. Most are not exact duplicates of real rare bottles, so there should not be confusion among antiques dealers & collectors. But, like Fenton, there are some collectors who will pay a few dollars for Wheaton products because they are examples of keeping a dying craft alive. [By the way, the craft is coming alive again at Fenton; follow this connect for the story...

As this image of a cobalt blue Wheaton Log Cabin Syrup bottle shows (found on ebayimage), Wheaton/Nuline ventured into bottled products as well. Perhaps these unmarked examples were label-only for another product.

Thanks @BobB for the info regarding the reopening of Fenton Glassworks!
