need help with jar I unearthed

Found this Jar while tearing down a old shed.....just the lip was showing and the rest was buried......I havent clean it yet, it seems to have no marking at all. From the picture it has ribbed lines running down it all the way around it.....I havent seen how much water it will hold...If I had to guess close to 2 gallon . any help will be appreciated .....Thanks Ricky

    Wow, 2 gallons is awfully large

    This held some type of food product - what exactly, I do not know. One really could not say much about it (without a label or info on jar lid) except it is probably 1930-60.

    The manufacturer marks on the base may reveal a few details.

    the shape of the jar is like a bee hive design and ribbed.....i havent seen any marking but after i wash it maybe it will yield something thanks for the comments
