Interesting Bottle?

edited November 2010 in Question and Answer
This bottle was found in a junk yard over 30 years ago in California and I've always wondered about it. Any information is appreciated. It appears hand painted. The seam goes to the top of bottle but not onto the lip. I tried a few times to remove the glass top but it is stuck and I never wanted to break it. Any information is appreciated!

  • This appears to be a 20th century replica of a German half-post bottle. It is hand blown but definitely a modern piece - once you see a few originals, you would understand how the paint decoration and the style of the stopper are not entirely true to form.

I am sorry to say that removing fitted stoppers can be very difficult if not impossible.

    hope this helps.
