Can anyone tell me about these, and what they are worth. Searched online and can't find this exact pair?

  • Wikipedia tells us... "Point Marion is located at the confluence of the Monongahela and Cheat Rivers. ...Houze Glass Co., located in the borough, was the primary employer. The company was founded by Leon Houze, a Belgian immigrant, in 1902 as a glassware manufacturer... The company closed in 2004." Worlds Fair was 1939-1940. The Flushing Meadow fairgrounds featured the Trylon and Perisphere, symbolizing "The World of Tomorrow", a futuristic design theme emphasizing simple, angular, streamlined (so the style of your salt/pepper shakers is strangely incongruous). Value in good part will depend upon what the metal is and its condition; there may be some interest among PA collectors of Houze glass, but mostly collectors of World's Fair memorabilia. Having the pair and with apparently serviceable original screw caps improves your chances of finding a buyer. -- GlassBobB
