large glass carboys

hi I have 2 carbouys, 1 screw top from laporte rotheram contained nitric acid. dont know much about other but non screwtop. both still have metal cages. anybody know any more about them??

Can't say that I have seen many at all with screw tops, but I guess it makes sense that glass stuck around as a material for holding certain liquids (like acids) since just about anything else would not be up to the task.

I have never seen one with a wire cage like this either. 19th century examples were placed in baskets or boxes with straw or excelsior.

they were both paded out with straw, ive cleaned this one up.
do they have any value?
