late 1800's early 1900's blown bottle?

edited December 2012 in Question and Answer
Hello, I found this bottle at a construction site in Bridgeport Ct. It looks like it may have been hand blown, no mold seams and what looks to be a tooled mouth. The bottom has a large indent and a blob of glass in the middle. It was found with an 1860's bitters bottle and some very early 1900's sodas. Any ideas of age of this bottle?

Thanks for any help. Jeff

  • How about a group photo of all those finds!

This "hock wine" shape was produced - still is produced - from the 18th century. I once owned an example that was dramatically crudely formed with a noticeably applied band at the mouth. It is hard to tell from your small photos, but I am guessing the age to be consistent with your other finds - second half of the 19th century.
