I need help dating a bottle manufactured by the Owens-Illinois Glass Co. The factory code is "28" the date code is "S3". This factory code doesn't show in any of the articles I researched. I did find referece to the date code "S3", but no mention of what year this code is for. With a little research on the sha.org site and Bill Lockhart's 2004 article I am confident this is a post-1940's bottle manufactured by the Owens-Illinois Glass Co. It is machine molded (seam lines obvious); the base is marked with the O-I logo from the time period, the base is stippled; and is also marked "Duraglas" in cursive lettering with upper-case "D" (see photo). After reading a few articles I thought the date code must have been a poorly molded "53" for 1953, but seeing mention of the "S3" code in Bill L's article- I'm positive this is the code. The bottle color is amber and the shape is a standard beverage bottle, but the volume is only about 6 or 8 ounces.

Any ideas on the year or what bottling company would have used this?
