BARR'S IRON BREW (as it was then spelt) was created by Robert Barr and his son, Andrew G Barr, working together in 1900. The flavouring they created for BARR'S IRON BREW was a unique combination of 32 ingredients and it was launched in 1901. This bottle has part of the original 1901 label on it which featured the famous highland athlete Adam Brown from Shotts. Part of the tamper proof paper strip which was placed across the top of the bottle closure is also visible. This bottle is embossed 'ROBERT BARR' and the signature 'Robert Barr' also appears on what remains of the original
