Found a Treasure Trove in my yard!!! Need some help in identifying

edited June 2012 in Question and Answer
I found about 20 intact bottles buried on the front of my property. Please take a stab at identifying these. I'm not sure if the Virginia Dare bottle is pre- or post-prohibition, which could help in dating some of the others.

  • Someone liked their booze. These are an interesting set because they span a time when glass manufacturing was evolving rapidly.

    1. Very late 19th or very early 20th century mold blown bottle with tooled top.

    2. Early 20th century (teens) machine blown bottle showing the Owens ring on base (used after about 1910)

    3. Early 20th century

    4. and 5. British made bottles 19th century

    7. Crown top soda bottle. "Box-O" mark of Owens Glass Co. Toledo, OH. 1920s.
  • Thanks! That was just a preview. I actually uncovered 22 bottles, including 4 of the Virginia Dare bottles (although obviously from different periods of time and castings).
