Help to ID this unique vintage amber decanter, please!
Hi! I found this FABULOUS and large decanter while cleaning out my mother-in-law's home. Most of the vintage items in the house were mid-century - my guess is that this is from the 60's-70's. Any help would be appreciated!
She traveled often and tended to purchase quality items from wherever she was. Most commonly, she traveled to Germany/Italy/France. She was German, so many of her items were originally produced there. I have no idea if this one was, though. There are no clear markings. The stopper has a round hole in the center (like where the blow pipe was) and the bottom has a clear "knock off" circle-shaped ridge.
It's not the most well-balanced piece ever made - it tips a bit to one side because the bottom is not perfectly flat.

Interesting piece. The profusion of bubbles is the key to this decanter's origins. One sees glass of this uniform character in several colors. It was made in Mexico - I have heard some call it "tourist trade" glass but I can say it appeared in stores and catalogs here in the US as decorative wares, sometimes made to intentionally look old.
I can't say I have seen such an unusual form as this!
