Very tall, strange, hand blown bottle identification help

edited July 2010 in Question and Answer
I've gone over this bottle and the stopper several times with a loupe looking for a hallmark of some sort and have not found one. There are no seams, only swirled tool markings from what I would assume was molding the neck. It measures almost 7 inches across at the base and almost 20 inches tall not including the stopper. Pictures attached, any help is appreciated. I'm hoping to find out not only when it was made, but what it is...Thanks in advance.

  • I really do not think this is a bottle but rather just a glass object blown to be decorative, or perhaps the base to a lamp.

Odd indeed, the top metal bracket is strange. It certainly appears to be earlier 20th century
