I need help identifying this clay bottle I found
I found this clay bottle in an 1800s shed behind an old farmhouse. It was in a box and protected completely from the elements, I have no idea what this is but it seems special being it’s made out of clay with a cork top. Any help would be appreciated because I am totally lost on this one

Thanks for posting This is an unusual shape for this type of bottle often referred to as a "stone gin." Most often they are seen as tall cylindrical bottles but in this case the flattened sides seem to mimic a "case gin" Case gins are square-bodied glass bottles that were fitted to wooden cases for transport.
Your bottle is European and likely of Dutch origin. You may be able to use paper and pencil to make a rubbing of the embossing - this may help to identify the markings.
