I have owned a few of these in years past. I believe that if you hold this up to some very strong light you will find that the glass color is actually a very deep amethyst / purple color. It is of course French but you will see them with a label in English. The product is "Protocarbonate of Iron"
Chris, thank you so much. When I hold it up to the light it seems black but perhaps the light I used wasn't strong enough. I appreciate the information on the embossing. I was having trouble reading it. Is it worth anything?

One will find a number of products by different manufacturers for Dr. Bland's Pills - likely it was a formulation created by an individual but was then mimics by other producers. See other pictures at: https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=Pilules+blaud+bottle+antique&iax=images&ia=images
The embossing on the bottle is:
Pilules
De Carte De Ferin Alterable
du Dr. Blaud
par A. Blaud SON NEVUE
