Mystery old cork top bottle w/no identifiable marks! Help!

This bottle is about 6-8 inches tall. It is clear with an amber liquid inside. It has a cork top. It has no seams & no pontil marks. It is smooth all around. I wiped it down with water but did not touch what is left of the label. I hope I took the correct photos & at the right angel to help determine what it is. We found it hidden in the rafters of the basement (house built 1940's by immigrants from Finland) in North East Ohio. It was next to an old miner's head lamp, a box of powder carbide & a ring of 'skeleton keys'. Hope someone can help solve the mystery!

Gadzooks! All I can think of is the "Miner 49er" episode of Scoobie Doo!

I am kinda sorta guessing it is an oil. Maybe for waterproofing / conditioning shoe leather? Wish there were at least a few letters written on that label.
