Glad to find this site!

edited March 2012 in Question and Answer
I am very glad to find this site! My mother and my cousin have been bottle digging for some time now but they recently got me started on it and now I am addicted. Just last night they found 90 bottles all in good condition; no chips or cracks even. Most look to be from around the 1930s-1940s. Im wondering if there is a book that someone would recommend to help determine age of bottles, etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • You may find a price guide book like Bottles Identification and Price Guide by Michael Polak to be quite helpful. It has value listings for thousands of bottles along with introductory information on dating / indentifying, etc. It's about $12 at Amazon.

You can also post photos here - I can give you an idea of how I would evaluate the age of a bottle or bottles.
