Bottle found in Georgia Swamp

I was hunting and found this bottle and no ount of googling has gotten me close. Hoping one of you can help

8 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide, 1.5 inches deep.

Mold seam runs from a corner to about 1 inch below the top of the lip on opposite sides

Only lettering are 3 large capital L's

Only mark on base is a indent which points to opposite corners of the mold seam.

Any help is appreciated!

  • I'm still doing research on this. Based on the color I'm guessing medicine bottle? Based on the shape and bottom would 1850-1900 seem about right?

  • If the mold seam does not go to the top of the lip, then this would be a late 19th c. bottle....possible 1880s but more likely 1890s...maybe even a bit into the next decade.

    Patent medicine - yes.

Finding a labeled example likely will be necessary to get further with ID.

Thanks for the information. The third photo down shows where the mold stops, about an inch below. I'll bump the estimate back to late 1800s/early 1900s then and put it on the shelf. Not the most exciting find, but always nice to stumble across something intact.
