I dug up a small glass bottle from a creek in NJ

Bottle is 3" tall and is missing the lid. The mouth of the bottle looks like it would have been a screw-on lid. There is a seam that runs along the side of the bottle and the only marking on the glass is a "7" on the bottom. Any ideas on the approximate age of the bottle based on all of this? Attached are photos.

  • About the best one can say would be mid 20th century. Bottles like this were commonly used up through the 1970s when plastic containers started taking over.

The true color of the glass is clear. There is something about bottles that sit in fresh water for a period of them that get that yellow brown color (algae?)
