Anybody know what this bottle is? It's got a decorated metal top and base...

Seems like pewter to me, all hand done, got it at a thrift store for 10 bucks.

Has the words 15417 'MAMBA' ITALY on it, written in magic marker on the bottom, and it has a metal screw cap. No other markings are on it. Has powder residue at the bottom of it, hopefully it's not cremated remains!

Anybody know what's up with this?

    This falls into a class of bottles, some of which have applied metal decoration that seem to have been created purely for decorative purposes. I saw quite a few when traveling in the mideast a few years ago.

    It is quite possible this was made in Italy.

    You can see similar bottles in home decor stores here in the US
