whiskey liquor bottle

edited January 2012 in Question and Answer
Any ideas what type of whiskey or liquor was in this bottle. it has the federal law forbids sales..... deal on the front so I have an approximate date. but if you could give me an exact year bottle was made through the numbers that would be awesome. I found this on the side of lookout mountain in georgia, metal detecting for civil war relics. the number next to the 18 is 31 its kind of hard to read best pic I could get thanks for your help!

I am not sure what company used the plain diamond mark. Dominion Glass Co. of Montreal used a "D" inside a diamond. Might this be their mark as well?

Might 54 refer to 1954? Possible.

The "Federal Law Forbids" markings is your best indicator, although I realized it is a broad range spanning several decades.

I am sure many collectors would be comfortable placing this in the 1940s or 50s range.
