Hi, I found a Gerresheimer wine bottle and I’m trying to date it by the marks on the bottom. Please take a look at my pix and tell me if you know what they mean.
Looks like you have correctly identified the mark (letter G with crown-like design above) to be from the German company A.G. der Gerresheimer Glashuttenwerk and also Oldenburgische Glasshutte located in the Dusseldorf area and Oldensburg. The book "Glass Makers and Their Marks" was my source for this info.
The rings of bumps around the edge of the base tell the age - this did not come into use from what I understand until the 1970s.
