National Bitters Patent Ear of Corn Glass Bottle, base Reads "ATE" or "RTE"?

I found a Bitters Ear of Corn Glass Bottle where the bottom is stamped "Patent ATE (or RTE) 1867" I was unable to find any information on a corn bottle with this base stamp. Any information would be helpful, thank you

    My guess is that it should read "DATE", but could not find any examples of this base marking.

    To my eye, there is a bit of a ghost of the letter "D" so yes DATE is what I believe this is.

    Bill Ham lists three base embossing variations in his book, I am not surprised to see a forth.
