Anyone know what this Jar is?

This glass jar with a metal handle has a tin cap with a 1" nipple. The nipple is a hollow 1/8" piece that goes in the jar another 1" or so. The jar is about 7" in Dia. by 8" high with no markings of any kind. Thanks for your help!!

It's a fuel tank for a kerosene stove. I remember such a small, somewhat portable stove for camping, I think, back about 1955. They have probably been in use since 1920's, kind of a precursor to Coleman's pressurized-tank camping stoves.
