Irish Glass Bottle 3” cork top

I found this Bottle beach combing in Ireland. When found it had a cork in place which has since deteriorated. The bottom is marked IGB 215 6. It has seams running all the way up each side and a horizontal seam below the lip.

I would like to find out age and what it may have been used for, my guess is that it was a medicine bottle.

  • Sorry, I should have stated that IGB is the Irish Glass Bottle Company founded in 1878.
  • It appears the mold seam goes up to the top of the lip and then wraps around the body under the lip. While I am not quite as versed in English/Irish bottles, it does appear to be machine made.
