Bottles with small amount of liquid
Does a collector have a preference for a bottle that has a rusty lid sealing in a little bit of liquid, or should I attempt to remove the lid and liquid? I personally think the lid looks really cool but the liquid is gross and probably dangerous. And if I take the lid off to pour out the liquid the lid will never go back on.
Another thing I found is a couple Mason Jars with something sealed inside. At the time I was excavating I thought it was really cool, but now that I've looked closer, I'm pretty sure it was a really bad idea to bring it to my work shop. The contents look like it could have been some kind of food. Today it looks like funky mashed potatoes and all I can think is botulism. Any advice on how to safely dispose of the unknown substance without the possibility of the jar breaking and spilling whatever is inside?

Feel good about putting them back into the hole from which you dug them.
