Old Four Roses bottle, help with numbers, please

I got my grandfather's four Roses bottle. The bottom has D126 for Seagram's, and a 55 57. Can I assume this is 1957?
Thanks

  • It is probably safe to say the bottle was blown in the 1950s. Finding an advertisement for this decanter would help confirm that.

Too much is made of the manufacturing numbers on the bottom of bottles - there were no standards and there is little research to confirm the meanings of these numbers ...with certainty.
