I dug up this small bottle in my back yard.

edited October 2011 in Digging Bottles
I dug up this small, glass bottle in my backyard while gardening. It has a seam going up the neck but stops before the top. Looking down on the flared top it is thicker on one side than the other. Also looking at the bottom it is thicker (comes up higher) on one side than the other. It has some kind of iridescent finish on the outside. No markings whatsoever. Can anyone help me date this and have any info on it? Thanks! image

  • early 20th century. mass-produced medicine bottle purchased in bulk by pharmacists in which to put a prescription. it may have held a medicinal product. in either case, the pharmacist or company applied a label.
  • Thank you, that would make sense why there are no markings!
  • would anyone be able to estimate the value of this?
  • Not much....some incidental decorative or curiosity value. Bottles like this are fairly plentiful. Perhaps a dollar or two. Maybe.
