Small Glass bottle with embossed dog or goat

edited September 2011 in Question and Answer
Can anyone help identify use/purpose/manufacturer of this bottle? It's about 2" tall, is flat rather than cylindrical, has an embossed dog or goat on one side, and horizontal marks on reverse. Clear glass. Came from site in Colorado occupied between 1870s and 1940s. Thanks.

  • It's most likely a dog - I can say, as a goat owner, that goats are much too under-represented throughout history!

See the previous discussion about antique nursing bottles including a link to an essential web site on the subject.
  • I did see that, but this bottle is only 2" tall. So you think this could it be a child's toy that a child might play with a doll?
