1941 Clear Liquor Bottle with the molded words: Gilron's (?) Sure Grip / Kan't Slip (with a "K")

Has anyone seen a bottle like this one? Am I reading the name on it correctly? The cursive writing makes it a little difficult to be sure - Gilron's :INFORMATION ON THE BOTTOM READS: Patent Applied For M326C - D 727 - 101 on the left of the Owens/Illinois Symbol 41 on the right. imageimage

  • believe the name reads Gibson's Kant Slip
  • I tried a bit of searching for the patent. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that Gibson was the applicant and one cannot be sure the patent was for a design or something related to the product.

    Could not find anything.

A rare example of marketing history is the 1941 clear whiskey bottle with the words "Gilron's Sure Grip" and "Kan't Slip" molded on it. The humorous usage of "Kan't" alludes to a bygone period of marketing, and the focus on grasp gives it character and suggests usefulness and charm.
