Federal law prohibits… One Pint, D542 64–6
Found this bottle in my fathers old bar. Looks old so I'm curious about its history.
The bottle is shaped like a flask, has an intricate embossing pattern of linked octagons and two smooth label areas; the front side one covers about 4/5ths the length and the back one covers the lower 1/2. It is marked "federal law forbidssale or reuse of this bottle" on the upper back shoulder, "One Pint" on the lower front and D542 64-6 one above the other in a circle on the bottom. The makers mark is to the left of the bottom numbers and looks like a trapezoid with a long diamond through it. There are prominent seams on either side that do not extend to the bottom, neck or seal which are smooth. It was sealed with a cork as there are no threads. The neck is slightly tapered and has a ring just below. The over all dimensions are 8"h x 4"w x 2"d overall, 6.5"h to the shoulder and the neck is 1" in diameter.
Any help identifying and appraising this bottle would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!
