Old Wood Bottle Mold? Or Folk Art Hand Made Bottle?

I am wondering what this old bottle shaped piece of wood might have been used for in the past. It is obviously very old and rustic...Measures about 10 inches tall and has a cylindrical hole in the top that reaches almost 6" deep. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy my photos.

    My gut reaction is that this is a lathe turned object made from old wood, perhaps just decorative, perhaps a candlestick.

    Patternmaker's prototypes for molds are really exacting and precise. Will post a photo of one if I can put my hands on a good image.
