Apothecary jar store show globe?
I bought this at an auction as a gift for someone; I think it's a "show globe" apothecary display jar, and it's just over 26 inches in height. It's molded, no marks, very heavy base; came from the estate of someone who worked in the glass industry in Ohio. Any idea of the date range of such pieces? Maybe it's a later repro/presentation piece? And is the limited info I've found on "show globes" correct? (Placed in windows/on counter, filled with mixture of liquids to demonstrate apothecary's skills or basically attract attention, sort of like a barber pole...) Thoughts on fair market value? Thanks for any help!
