Help! Need help identifying a vase

I found a set of these vases at a garage sale. I was drawn to the bright red color of the glass. There is a smooth spot on the bottom of each that makes me think they were hand blown instead of molded. They have some weight to them also. Anybody here recognize anything about them? Many thanks in advance!

    They look somewhat like Venetian glass but the weight is much too heavy...I suspect these are modern decorator pieces. Lots of glass items like this are sold at various home decor shops.
