hollerstomp71 sorry for the poor quality of pics, my camera doesn't take the greatest pictures and the lighting is bad. i've got an amber brown bottle that reads "Certo" on one side and on the other side it's got "for 1/2 bottle pour to here" written upside down. on the bottom it says made in USA
historic Certo is pectin which is extracted from plants, used to thicken jam. It is still sold today but available in powdered form. Judging from the stippling or texture around the bottom of your bottle, this one is fairly modern - post 1950 or so.
