Verify Alcohol Bottle

Hello,

I have a unlabeled bottle stamped with the federal prohibition stamp. The bottom is stamped with:
D-23
73-7

I’ve tried to deduct what it could be. I know the distillery code is 23. And permit is 73. Year 7 - possibly 1937?
If anyone can be helpful, I would greatly appreciate! Thank you.

I am not aware of any standardization of manufacturing codes - there is only some info known about some companies. Most likely each company had there own guidelines.

I have associated D-23 with Hiram Walker Triple Sec from 1960s. Also have seen label for Barclay's Private Stock Whiskey. Old Overholt Straight Rye Whiskey based on labeled examples.
