Is this a Hutch? H Vogelgesang, Elk, Canton Ohio

Hello all,

I'm wondering if this bottle is a Hutch type? Any ideas on what it held? It's a little over 7 inches in height without the stopper.

The center circle has H. Vogelgesang, Elk, Canton O.

At the lowest part of the side is C&CO, LIM, No.6

Yes, it is a Hutchinson soda. It is unlisted at http://sodasandbeers.com

Any ideas on when it was made and being unlisted does that make it rare?

For most bottles, we do not know where they were made - however, your bottle bears the mark of C & Co which was Cunninghams & Co of Pittsburg, PA. According to Bottle Makers and Their Marks (Toulouse) this firm was in business from 1879 to 1907.

As for rarity, hard to say. Consider the many thousands of bottlers already gathered probably means your bottle is less common. As for demand, that is a question for Ohio soda bottle collectors..
