Trying to date and value

I have an aqua jug marked 1 gallon with side seams, 284

on the bottom and glass stopper and some bubbles

There's really no telling without a Makers mark. I'm assuming it had a paper label at some point. Looks like it was for some type of medicine.

I think of these as apothecary or chemical bottles. One sees them in a number of colors and shades, aqua is common.
