The bottle itself is what collectors would call a pumpkinseed whiskey bottle. It is no coincidence that such a bottle would be used to contain essence of Jamaica Ginger
The age of the bottle would be very late 19th century or very early 20th century.
Jamaica Ginger was a highly alcoholic concoction and for many a way around temperance movements. Booze that was not explicitly labeled as such. It was not a whole lot different that the high alcohol medicine and bitters concoctions that were common in 19th century America.
